PASTOR ROBBIE D. SCANDRICK

Reverend Robbie D. Scandrick is the proud son of the Late Deacon Marvin and Mother Mary Louise Scandrick. He is the youngest male child in a family totaling eight siblings. He joined Oak Grove Baptist Church at the age of ten and as soon as he was baptized He immediately began singing, worshiping and serving God.

He joined the Senior Choir where Sunday after Sunday he would sing and make a joyful noise unto the lord. The first song that he led was “I love the Lord and I won't Take it Back" and he hasn't stopped since.

Reverend Scandrick had a love for music at an early age and because of that he taught himself to play several instruments but he fancied playing the organ, keyboards and piano. He used that talent to play for several churches in the Community to include Macedonia Baptist Church, Piney Grove Baptist Church, Sasser Grove Baptist Church, Neriah Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and Oak Grove Baptist to name a few.

Reverend Scandrick grew up in Atlanta and is a proud product of the Atlanta Public School System. Knowing that he was servant for Jesus Christ and the Community, shortly after graduating from High School Reverend Scandrick entered the workforce where in 1988 he became a member of the Atlanta Police Department.

While serving on the Police Department Reverend Scandrick received numerous Department accommodations, Community Awards, and worked in several units within the department to include The Robbery and Homicide Unit. Reverend Scandrick served as an Atlanta Police Officer for 33 years until his retirement in 2021. In 2019 Reverend Scandrick was deputized by Sheriff Ted Jackson, of the Fulton County Sheriff Department.

Reverend Scandrick was ordained as a Deacon in January of 2009 and In 2013 he was elected to Serve as President of the Building Aid Convention comprised of four Churches in Senoia, Georgia after the Passing of his Father Deacon Marvin Scandrick.
Reverend Scandrick was licensed to preach the the gospel by Bishop Milton Holston On May 6, 2017. Reverend Scandrick was later ordained and elevated to the position of Assistant Pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church Ministries on September 9, 2018. On October 24, 2020 Reverend Scandrick was asked to be Interim Pastor of Piney Grove Baptist Church and one year later, on October 24, 2021, he was installed as Pastor.

Reverend Scandrick considers serving as a Pastor to be his most prestigious accomplishments because he told his mother at the age of 10 that he was going to be a Pastor. Reverend Scandrick is married to Lady LaTanya Scandrick. He has two daughters Ashley and Nicole, and a granddaughter named Harmony. Finally Reverend Scandrick can be heard telling everyone “I was Glad when they said unto me Let us Go into the House of the Lord". Being the servant that he is, He knows that only what you do for Christ will last.
